Chrome Extension Permissions

To function properly, Texty requires certain permissions in your browser. Below is a detailed list of the permissions we request and why, in accordance with Chrome Web Store policies:

• Storage: Used strictly locally to save your configuration and snippet content on your device. We do not sync this to our servers by default.
• ContextMenus: Allows Texty to add a right-click shortcut so you can easily expand text or manage snippets directly from input fields.
• Alarms: Used to run background processes efficiently, such as validating license status periodically without keeping the extension constantly active (saving memory and battery).
• Host Permissions (textysnippets.vercel.app): This specific network permission is required for the extension to communicate with our servers solely for Pro license validation (activation and checks).

Information We Collect

• Account & license data: email address, license key, activation status, tier, and device metadata (hashed device ID) to enforce device limits per plan.
• Transaction data: payment details sent by LemonSqueezy (e.g., order ID, amount, currency, payment status). We do not store raw card information.
• Website analytics: aggregated metrics from Vercel Analytics (e.g., visited pages, device type, and approximate location based on IP). This is used to improve the site and is not used for ad targeting.
• Limited operational data: minimal technical logs for security and troubleshooting.
• Support communications: the content you send to support so we can resolve issues.

Information We Do Not Collect

• Your snippet content, messages, emails, or any text you type.
• Your browsing history, visited pages, or web page content.
• Sensitive data such as passwords, form contents, or full payment details.

How We Use Information

• Process purchases and deliver license keys via email.
• Validate licenses, including device limits.
• Prevent abuse, license piracy, and maintain service security.
• Provide technical customer support.

Data Processing Basis & Retention

We process data to perform the service contract (license activation), comply with legal obligations, and for legitimate interests in security. Snippets are stored locally in your browser (Chrome storage). License and transaction data are retained while the account remains active and as needed for legal compliance or dispute resolution. You may request deletion of license data at any time.

Data Sharing & International Transfers

We only share data with trusted providers necessary to operate the service:

• LemonSqueezy (Payment Processor)
• Supabase (License Storage & Backend)
• Resend (Email Delivery)
• Vercel (Website Hosting & Analytics)

Our providers operate globally. Your data may be processed in countries where their infrastructure is located. We never sell your personal data.

Your Rights and Security

We use standard security practices including encryption, access controls, and strict webhook validation. You can request access, correction, or deletion of your license data by contacting us. You can opt out of website analytics by using browser settings or ad blockers. Core Texty functionality does not depend on analytics.

Children's Privacy: Texty is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
